Privacy Issues

I was wondering how others felt about having their blogs so public. I bring this up, because I wanted to post my video - since it was the best grade I have gotten in the class so far, but with my blog being public anyone can view it. That worries me. My video is a bit personal and I can think of a few people I don't really want looking at my stuff. When I google my name, my blog comes up, so anyone can view it. I know you can set your blog to private, but when I tried to do it, I had to put in everyone's blog to keep them able to view it, too much work, I gave up. Any comments I would enjoy. This is an issue that concerns me.

I think these days nothing is really private. You can pretty much look up anyone and find some information about them. I too don't like having personal stuff shown to the world. If you want to keep it private then maybe you should not put it up. It kinda of amazes how many people I know up date their status on fb with personal stuff that they have going on in their life. I think fb has kinda gotten to be more of a stalker site then a network site sometimes!

I actually post a lot of relatively personal information online. However, I know a lot of bloggers draw the line at posting anything that can identify their kids, as a safety precaution. Exactly where they consider that line to be, though, varies: some will post pictures but not names, some use nicknames to refer to their kids — it's up to you to find a comfort zone.

I think the only way to make it private is to get your own web hosting space, create a secure login page, and send out the ID and password to people you want to have access to it. Lots of work. Not sure otherwise.
